QNH METER

The AWRX 1.5.1 QNH Meter

This device is an attractive freestanding barometer displaying an 'allways on' barometric pressure adjusted to mean sea level. The reading is rounded off to indicate the aviation QNH value. The device requires calibration whereby the elevation above sea level is set. Accurate calibration is essential for accurate results. If the device is moved after calibration the device will detect an altitude change and force re-calibration.

Elevation above sea level can be obtained from Google Earth or a topographical map. During calibration the device will estimate the elevation and this figure can be fine tuned using the + and - buttons.

The device is not intended as a substitute to the normal pilot’s pre-flight procedures. This device shall render a reasonably accurate indication prior to commencement of pre-flight procedures. A typical example would be to determine the atmospheric conditions prior to arrival at an airfield, forewarned is forearmed.
